Challenge | How can we leverage technology to help more people lead healthier lives, with particular focus on those who are often excluded?
Design | An adaptive tricycle allows a wide user group to participate and become active. It provides real-time feedback about performance, can be used in a variety of ways, and automates certain activities.
Outcome | This device was usable by people with or without disabilities and was operated by hand, by foot, or by both. The exercise focused on germane activities for staying healthy.
This concept was developed at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2001.
